Sandra Maze finds a continual source of inspiration in the beautiful countryside and coastlines of both Ireland and her native Scotland. She loves painting ‘plein air’ as she is able to experience the intimacy of the scene in front of her. The constantly changing light encourages her to work fast, in order that fleeting moments can be recalled on paper.

This painting entitled 'Hillsborough Lake II' has been framed in a contemporary white wooden tray frame to complement the painting. 

Elaine Murdock is inspired by her love of the local coastal landscape. She collects sketches and studies of its stunning and often fleeting variations. Back in the studio, these references, conceived in oil on canvas, pay homage to the calm beauty of the isolated landscape. Elaine's coastal works often involve paring back the elements and increasing the energy of the brush strokes to capture something of the power of the sea and the elements.
