"Memories are better than reality, always will be." ~ George Gourley
George Gourley was born in rural Cookstown in Northern Ireland when it was then unspoilt by development or industrial farming methods. The people were characters and their lifestyles simpler than today. For this solo exhibition entitled, George has painted watercolour scenes of local towns and villages in Sepia. He loves the tones and challenges it offers and uses burnt sienna to bring warmth to his work. George is now retired after 35 years of teaching and is a member of the Ulster Watercolour Society.
This original watercolour painting is entitled 'A Still Heart' and has been mounted and framed in a white wooden frame with glass to complement the artwork.
